What We Do

Schools

As a member of the Chaplaincy teams our worker is regularly involved in the preparation and delivery of Assemblies and Religious Observance in both Primary and High Schools. Our worker also provides lessons as part of the RME curriculum. Our workers have also been involved in the wider life of the school supporting various departments, including the Departments of Art and Additional Support.

Some of the schools in Glenrothes have lunchtime groups organised and facilitated by the worker with local volunteers.

The Trust has also supported the visits of specialists into schools in the Music and Physical Education departments.

In collaboration with SU staff members and local volunteers, the Trust arranged and ran a week’s timetable of events for a High School year group.

Churches

The work of GROW is well known in our local churches and our worker may provide support to individual church events, start-up groups and may provide or facilitate training for volunteers.

GROW provides opportunities for young people from the town’s churches and school groups to meet together arranging termly events and supporting SU’s Fife Primary Activity Days.

The young people are also encouraged to attend both weekend and holiday camps organised by SU Scotland.
